Dermody Cleaners Launches 33rd Annual Coats for Kids Drive

Dermody Cleaners is thrilled to announce the launch of its 33rd Annual Coats for Kids Drive. This cherished tradition allows the local dry cleaning and laundry business to clean and donate winter coats to those in need through the Saint Vincent de Paul Society’s Center on Washington Street in Taunton. Since its inception, the drive has successfully collected, cleaned, and distributed over 50,000 coats to children within our community.

Setting this year apart from others, upon donation of a coat, patrons will receive a one-time-only coupon for 30% off their next drycleaning order. Dermody Cleaners is thrilled to reward customers for their generosity.

Throughout January, we invite area residents to donate gently worn children’s winter coats that are no longer needed. As a token of appreciation, customers who donate a coat will receive a 30% discount on their next dry cleaning order. Coats can be dropped off at any Dermody Cleaners location, including: 34 Cohannet Street (downtown, across from the Taunton Gazette), 648 County Street (Hart’s Four Corners), 330 Bedford Street in Lakeville (Sava’s Plaza), and the Press Club on Route 6 in Somerset.

Terry Dermody, representing Dermody Cleaners, emphasized the significance of this year’s drive, stating, “As we step into 2026, we are reminded of the importance of community support and warmth during winter. Our goal is to ensure that every child has access to warmth and security. We appreciate your partnering with us to make this a reality for needy children.”

Mr. Dermody also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Martignetti Companies of Taunton, which helped kick off this year’s drive by donating over 300 coats. He extended his thanks to Berkley Middle School, Segregansett Country Club, and Taunton Extended Day Care for their ongoing support.

The Saint Vincent de Paul Center, located at 141 Washington Street in Taunton, is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the food pantry. In emergencies, the Vincentians can be reached immediately at 1-508-823-

The Coats for Kids campaign is Dermody Cleaners’ flagship community service initiative, alongside other projects such as the Holiday Food Drive and ongoing support for the Boys & Girls Club of Metro South.
